Council: 114 - BANGOR
Council 114 held an Acadian Soiree, a celebration of Acadian food, live music and culture, complete with many decorations, at the Anah Temple Shrine on Broadway in Bangor. In all 85 Knights and many of their spouses held a dinner for 330 people from the parish and the community at large. The food included ployes (potato pancakes), along with many traditional Acadian dishes. The event raised more than $3,500 in profits and the council gave $1,800 to the scholarship fund for All Saints Catholic School in Bangor and $500 to Shepherd’s Godparent Home in Bangor, a place where single women can have their child in a safe, wholesome environment.
