ACTS proto-Core (March) --- 15791 Falmouth

04/15/2022

Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH

Project Description:

Two bother knights and 6 parishioners attender our past Parish ACTS retreat proto-Core meeting, the proto-Core Team meets every month to plan the annual women’s ACTS retreat and the men’s ACTS retreat

Women’s Prayer Service – May 21, 2022

The service will be at Sacred Heart, probably about 9 am to noon. LT is contacting Fr. Paul Marquis about coordinating with the 8.15 am Mass scheduled just beforehand.
LT is finalizing the logo design, which we’ll use in program and promotional materials.
Suggested to reach out to Fr. Brian at OLH, as he may be able to help with suggestions for programming.

Men’s Retreat – Fall 2022

Send-off and Homecoming (to be held at OLH) – RLT has reserved the Hall at St. Pius X Church for Send-off on November 10 and the Fr. Hayes Center at St. Brigid’s School for a Homecoming Reception after the 10 am Mass at St. Joseph Church on November 13.
We will start the Discernment process for a Men’s Retreat Director for November 2022 at our April Proto-Core meeting. CLT will work on honing the list of men eligible to be Director.
CLT aski to add the firm date for this Retreat to the POTHE website; she will check that this was done.
CLT has already asked Cheverus about using their school bus for retreatant transport at Send-off.

Immaculate Heart of Mary/Prince of Peace Men’s Retreat, May 2022

The IHM/POP Men’s Retreat is scheduled for May 19-22, 2022, and is now to be held at Camp Mechuwana. They have 20+ team members, including several from OLH/POTHE.
We will strongly encourage our ACTS Ministry to support their Candlelight event (perhaps with car-pooling). Happy will mention this prominently in the April and May ACTS newsletter.

Rosary for Life Service in October 2022

CLT has reserved the Holy Martyrs grotto, the Main Church, the Hall, and the Green Room (for child care) for October 21.
CLT offered to ask his daughter about helping with child care for this event. At least one volunteer sitter must have the Diocesan Protecting God’s Children training.
We will try to have a sign-up option at the website for those who may need child care.
We will use the same program we did last October for this service.
Happy will ensure that this event is publicized in both parish bulletins and the Diocesan calendar.

Other Business

CLT will make sure that Fr. Steven Cartwright is added to the Flocknote ACTS group, so he will see our announcements.
CLT will check on the status of Peter’s Flocknote record, as he doesn’t seem to be getting emails from various parish groups.
CLT sent a few comments from the attendees at the November 2021 Men’s Retreat to accompany the group photo; will submit these to the two parish bulletins for publication.

Our ACTS proto-Core also includes parishioners from Our Lady of Hope Parish, this accomplish two objectives, the first one is to help the Parish of The Holy Eucharist to strength our 3+ year ACTS ministry and to expand the reach of the ACTS retreat to other Parishes, over these past 3 years the ACTS retreat has touched and changed the lives of 100+ parishioners, the fruits of the retreat have been clear in the four core areas of ACTS, A (Adoration) C (Community), T (Theology) and S (Service), many of our Parish ministries have seen a grow in participation coming from the retreatants.

POTHE/OLH ACTS CORE Formation: Both pastors gave their blessing to move forward with forming a Core. By forming a Core, the POTHE/OLH ACTS Community will be a legal Community in the eyes of ACTS Missions. Forming a Core is the next step in the ACTS process after having the 4 Mission Retreats, 2 Men’s and 2 Women’s retreats. The Core is the “guiding body,” along with the pastors and Fr Marquis, our ACTS Chaplain, that assures that all retreats are kept in the true order that ACTS intended, SIMPLE, CATHOLIC, REVERENT.
