American Red Cross Blood Drive
Council: 2219 - WESTBROOK
Westbrook Council #2219 hosted a Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at St. Anthony’s Parish Hall in Westbrook from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM. This was the second of four scheduled blood drives in 2019. Knights began the preparation of the hall for the Blood Drive at 11:00 AM with removal of all tables and chairs to accommodate the setup for the drive. Several Council members were present to assist with unloading of the Red Cross Truck, setup of the drive, working throughout the duration of the drive (check-in, Canteen), cleanup and resetting the tables and chairs in the hall. Everything wrapped up by 7:00 PM. Our goal for the drive was to collect 25 units of blood.
23 Donors were registered in histories at the event.
3 Donors were deferred.
3 Donors opted to donate Power Reds for 6 units collected between them.
Altogether, we collected 23 donations of blood which equates to 69 lives potentially saved.
Our next Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled for October 25.
