American Red Cross Blood Drive
Council: 2219 - WESTBROOK
Council 2219 continues it’s long-term partnership with the American Red Cross by holding a blood drive in St. Anthony’s Parish Hall. Knights participated in scheduling the drive, coordinating with the Red Cross, clearing the furniture in the hall, helping to set up the room for the blood drive, providing staffing to assist during the blood drive and cleaning up and resetting the Parish Hall furniture.
The goal for this blood drive was to collect 20 donations of blood. The blood drive results were:
1. Collected 17 donations of blood which equates to 51 lives potentially saved which is huge.
2. 1 donor opted to donate Power Reds for 2 units collected.
3. 22 donors were registered at the event.
4. 5 donors were deferred and 1 donor was unable to complete their donation.
So far in 2019 Council 2219 has helped the Red Cross to collect 59 donations of blood.
Our next blood drive is confirmed for December20th.
