Augusta Food Bank

Project Description:
I volunteer at the Augusta Food Bank. My duties include picking up food at various stores and unloading the food and other essentials at the food bank. The items are weighed and the weights recorded by me before they are distributed throughout the facility.
Cony H.S. in Augusta has a Community Cupboard from which students in all grades, including elementary grades throughout the city, can be provided a variety of food to be taken home. I deliver to and stock this cupboard weekly throughout the school year with food items from the Augusta Food Bank.
I also help deliver food to low income elderly housing units, shut ins and other facilities in the city. Deliveries of pet food are also made by me to an animal shelter and non food essentials such as hygiene products to related facility.
I am unaware of any other Knights assisting in this activity as there are many volunteers performing other duties during other days and times at the Augusta Food Bank.
My actual time was 160 hours and 50 minutes. This is a physical labor intensive activity.
