Campaign for People With Intelletual Disabilities
Council: 680 - MILLINOCKET
Members of Council 680 participated in the Maine State Council’s Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities for 2018. On November 16th. members manned a booth at the local SaveaLot grocery store giving tootsie rolls in exchange for donations to this campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to provide donations to a local service organization dealing with clients with intellectual disabilities in the participating Council’s community. At the weekend Masses of Christ the Divine Mercy, donations were solicited from parishioners at each of the Masses at St. Martin’s and St. Peter’s. On November 23rd, members manned another booth at the Savealot store in an attempt to reach the 1000 dollar goal. Although falling short of our goal, we did collect at total of 644 dollars which was submitted to the Maine State Council. A check was later received in the amount of 437 dollars which was given to the Katahdin Friends Incorporation with their gratitude for our annual efforts to support their organization.
