CLEAN AND STAIN HANDICAP RAMP AT ST. JOSEPH'S CHURCH, PORTLAND, ME.

07/19/2021

Council: 11257 - PORTLAND

Project Description:

SIR KNIGHT PETER ROVNAK WORKED ON THE HANDICAP RAMP AT ST. JOSEPH’S CHURCH IN PORTLAND. BOUGHT MATERIALS, WASHED THE RAMP ON ONE EVENING AND STAIN MOST OF IT THE NEXT EVENING. THE THIRD EVENING IS FOR FINAL TOUCH UP AND REPAIRS. THE RAMP IS 50 TO 60 FEET LONG AND HAS A HIGH LEVEL OF TRAFFIC DURING WEEKEND MASSES AND RECEIVES MUCH WEAR IN THE WINTER FROM SHOVELING AND THE APPLICATION OF SALT AND SAND. IT THEREFORE NEEDS TO BE COATED EVERY YEAR. COUNCIL 11257 KNIGHTS STAIN THE RAMP EACH YEAR IN ORDER TO SAVE THE PARISH THE EXPENSE WHICH WOULD BE ABOUT $500. THE RAMP WAS DONATED TO THE PARISH IN MEMORY OF SIR KNIGHT JOSEPH TUTTLE WHO WAS HONORARY LIFE MEMBER. THE RAMP IS NOW 24 YEARS OLD.
