Eagle Scout Project 2 - Infant Burial Area
Council: 2219 - WESTBROOK
Project Description:
We were requested to provide a project to a prospective Eagle Scout that would provide sustained improvement. There is an area in the cemetery where the council had erected a huge cross about twenty years ago. The surrounding area was where infants were buried, sometimes unidentified. The area had become overgrown and not a pleasant area to visit. The Eagle candidate proposed cultivating the area, planting perennials, placing a decorative border around the flagpole, cleaning the unreadable headstones, and mapping the area for the church office. All was completed on time. The scout received his Eagle badge at a December ceremony.
