ESSAY CONTEST WITH 8TH GRADERS OF ST. BRIGID CATHOLIC SCHOOL PORTLAND, ME

Project Description:

PGK Dewayn Marzagalli organized and lead the 11th year Essay contest for 2019. Dewayn was assisted by PGK Michael Pizzo, PGK Jim Pizzo, Brother Dave Bergson and Principal William Burke who is also a Knight in our council. Also, they were assisted by 8th grade teachers Mr. Gordon and Ms. Newman. We utilized the Essay Kit from supreme with the topic “Discuss the meaning of Virtue and how you live and embody the virtue of Charity.” The essays were completed by 24 students from he 8th grade classes in the month of October 2019. The essays were graded by the team and awards were presented at an all school assembly on November 12th, after the 8am mass at St. Joseph’s church. The 3 winners were awarded winners certificates along with a cash prize of $50 each. Each participant of the essay was awarded a participation certificated. The winning essays were forwarded to the District Deputy for participation in the District contest. Winners from the District will be forwarded to the State Essay Contest and then on to the Supreme contest.
