Feeding the Soul III: The Quest for Silence in a Noisy World
Council: 1423 - No. WHITEFIELD
Transfiguration Hermitage is a community of Religious Sisters, recognized by the Diocese, operating under the Rule of St. Benedict. For the third year, Sr. Elizabeth has organized a prayerful retreat, open to all. This event, in addition to their baked goods and organic produce, serves as a fundraiser for the Hermitage. As she has in the past, she asked the Knights in District Eight for their assistance in setting up for the event.
On Saturday, August 3rd, Knights from Councils 334, 1299, and 1423 gathered to pick-up tables, chairs, and other supplies, from Augusta, gardiner, and Whitefield, and transported them to the Windsor location.
On Sunday, these Knights returned to Windsor, and assisted in final set-up, parking, traffic control, shuttling guests from the parking area to the event venue.
During the event, the guests were witnesses to presentations from Maine humorist Gary Crocker, Maine author Jane Brox, and a reflection from Sr. Elizabeth.
Following the event, the Knights broke down the equipment, returned the tables and chairs, and assisted in cleaning up the area.
