Fudnraiser for Community Member

Council: 2755 - SPRINGVALE

Project Description:

On November 23, 2019 from 1pm-9pm a second fundraiser was organized for Eric Howes who was a member of the Sanford/Springvale community and died suddenly and unexpectantly on 10/21/2019. The fundraiser was to help support his family as he was the primary source of income.
14 brother Knights from Council 2755 helped volunteer and participate in the fundraiser which occurred on Bridge St. in Springvale, Maine. Council 2755 donated $250 towards the cause to provide oil for the family. Brother Knights assisted in presenting a meal consisting of a potato bar with a buffet of toppings, several brothers donated funds to assist in the meat raffle prizes in Eric’s memory, DGK Pete Auger donated an autographed Gronkowski Jersey which was raffled off raising over $1000, Brother Dan Boulet donated a sign which was auctioned off raising over $300, and many brothers donated directly to the cause by purchasing raffle tickets and participating in the auctions.
At the end of the day the event raised between $16,000-$20,000 for the family of Eric Howes. His widow Alison Howes and several family members were present and thanked the participants for their love and support including the Knights of Columbus Council 2755.
