Fund-raiser. Potluck Lunch For One Of Our Seminarians. 15791

03/09/2020

Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH

Project Description:

Fourteen council brothers and their family members participated in the Council Fundraising Potluck Lunch For one of our Seminarians, at Holy Martyr’s Church Hall on Saturday March 7, 2020. It was brought to our attention by our Council Chaplin Fr. Phil that Seminarian Joe was looking to raise funds for a trip to the Holy Land. After discussion at the February Business Meeting it was decided that the council would put on a POTLUCK Lunch on Saturday March 7, 2020. Our council Seminarian Director and Deputy Grand Knight took the lead in setting up this event, from advertising, to food purchases, etc. Those in attendance had a chance if they wished to make a donation to the cause. Total donations taken in was $1,270.00. At the end of the event Seminarian Joe announced that he will take half the donations and send it off in support of the State Seminarian Program, the the other half would go to Sacred Heart Major Seminary. As part of the afternoon’s program Seminarian Joe gave a talk on how as a High School student he was drawn to the Priesthood. Following the Potluck lunch, and clean-up a number of the council members and attendee’s stayed for the 4 PM Mass. This day our council brothers helped as Server’s, and Collector’s. With many different dishes, no one left hungry. GOD be with you Seminarian Joe as you continue your journey to Priesthood.
