Hands Around the Capitol
Council: 11376 - BRIDGTON-FRYEBURG
This year the Maine State Right to Life sponsored a meeting in Augusta to commemorate 47 years of abortions in the U.S Four Hundred Maine citizens met at St. Mary’s Church in Augusta to attend Mass presided over by Bishop Robert Deeley, Bishop of the Diocese of Portland,Maine.
After Mass, the attendees congregated in the St. Michaels Gym next door to hear an address by the Bishop and by the new Director of Maine Right to Life, Karen Vachon. The enthusiasm and commitment by the Pro-Lifers there was indicative of the slow but steady demise of Planned Parenthood. The audience was encouraged to write to their legislators, letters to the editors and getting involved in the political process to defeat Pro Choice legislation. Four Knights from our Council attended the Event in sub-freezing temperatures.
