Knight of the Month for March 2020
Council: 13861 - SANFORD
Our worthy grand knight Terry Sylvanus approached me at Holy Family Church this past Sunday and asked me if I had anybody in mind for the Knight of the month for March. I told him that Ray Sargent had suggested someone. Terry also had a name in mind. I suggested that we save that individual for April.
The knight of the month for March joined our ranks two years ago. He promptly took his second and third degree. From there he took his fourth degree to become a Sir Knight. He worked with Ray Sargent as District Warden and became our Deputy Grand Knight last year. He is now our Grand Knight. As Grand Knight he has taken on ambitious projects, such as the Bell Fund which financed the new church bells at Holy Family Church and bean suppers to finance improvements to the Parish Hall kitchen. He played a key role in instituting and coordinating the Family of the Month. You’ll always see him lending a hand at the Lenten Haddock Suppers, the Childrens’ Christmas Party, Church Recruiting Drives and Degree Exemplifications. I only mentioned a few things he has accomplished. I don’t want to be up here all night. As a result of his leadership and direction, the St. Thomas Council has become a very active and vibrant council – one of the top councils in the state of Maine!
