Participate in the First Annual Transitus of Saint Francis. 15791

10/04/2020

Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH

Project Description:

Last evening my wife, and I participated in the Celebration of the Transitus of Saint Francis via Zoom in our home. As a Knight of Columbus Family, and also a Secular Franciscan Family we are dedicated to our faith and one another. This evening there were several Fraternal Orders who participated in the Transitus of Saint Francis with us. Members in attendance as well as some family members came from the Windham Fraternity which we are members of, Norway, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. The presentation on behalf of Saint Francis was presented by members of one or more of the above listed Fraternity. Prayers, Gospel Readings, and Hymn’s were all part of the evening. One of the readings came from the book written by Brother Bonaventure titled “Major Life of Saint Francis”. The final two readings were the “Canticle of the Creatures”, and adapted from Laudato Si, ” A Christian Prayer in Union with Creation” written by Pope Francis. Also as part of the celebration each person or family was asked to bring and display a candle prior to the final two Prayers. This was our First Annual Celebration of the Transitus of Saint Francis with other Fraternity’s. We look forward to 2021 when we can once again join one another as Brothers of the Franciscan Order, and as a Knights of Columbus Family.
