Physically Disabled/Intellectual Disabilities Drive
Council: 11257 - PORTLAND
KC Council 11257 held its People with disabilities drive on Saturday October 6 and Sunday October 14 at the Shaw’s Market in Falmouth, Maine. There were 16 brother knights who volunteered for 2 hour shifts each to greet the customers as they entered and left the store. Some of the brother knights did two shifts. The council was able to raise $990.50 gross. After deduction for tootsie roll expenses and 20% donation to State Council for charitable giving requests the council netted $760.40 for distribution to the charities chosen by the brother knights. At our business meeting on November 13 the members voted to distribute funds to Special Olympics Maine Polar Dip $253.47, Morrison Development Foundation $253.47 and Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation $253.46. The checks were presented by brothers who were involved with the organizations.
