Project Description:
Every Wednesday evening, the St. Martin of Tours Council #680 hosts a Pitch Tournament (card game) at the
Association Hall in Millinocket for its members to promote fellowship and participation in family activities. On average 5 members, along with their wives, participate in the fun evening of card playing and camaraderie. Once a month, the Pitch Tournament is preceded by a meal prepared and served by volunteer Knights. These nights have been termed Pitch Feed Nights and have become more popular than the card playing nights that do not have a meal associated with the tournament. At the end of each evening, a donation basket is passed around and proceeds from these donations are given to a local fuel oil dealer to be used to provide heating oil for those most in need.
