Prayers for Lamentations and Hope. 15791
Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH
I as a Past Deputy Grand Knight of this council who is also a Secular Franciscan, and his family participated in a “Prayers for Lamentations and Hope” program from home via ZOOM on 31 January, 2021. In attendance was 200 Secular Franciscans from a number of states. From Franciscan fraternity there were 5 in attendance. With January being a month of Hope, the prayer service consisted of a number of religious songs and readings, lead by our Program leader. Also during this prayer service, was recited a poem called “Imagine A World” Poem. This poem was excellent and Very Up Lifting. Bible readings were also part of the service from 2 Chronicles 7:14, a Prayer from St. John Paul for Life. A reading from 1 John 19:1. A reading from Psalm 51:10-12 followed by a few minutes of “Contemplative Meditation”. “Cast me not away from thy presence, take not thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore in me the Joy of thy Salvation and renew a right Spirit in Me.” The final reading was from the Beatitudes of Our Lord Jesus according to Matthew. In closing, our host thanked each of us for being present and participating in this “Prayer for Lamentations and Hope” program on the above date. Following the program we were given time to socialize with our Brothers and Sisters from other Fraternities across the country. This was a Very Blessed evening, and we are very pleased as a Secular Franciscan Family, and a Knights of Columbus Family that we were able to participate.
