Reflooring in parish hall
Council: 2219 - WESTBROOK
Several parts of our 2013 renovation were never completed due to lack of funds. One area was a storage area behind closed doors. The asphalt tiles in this area were taken up and properly disposed of many years back; however, no new flooring was installed, leaving a very rough surface of old mastic (see photo). There simply was no good way to clean this area. The emergency exit stairway leading from this area also needed resurfacing.
Our council put this project in our 2021-22 budget at an estimated cost of $780. The day prior to the work, five Knights spent about an hour removing all material from the area. This included a large storage closet with many stored boxes (See photo).
Once the work was completed, everything was moved back to its original position. The new flooring allows easy vacuuming, sweeping, or mopping (see photo)
