Spaghetti Supper 3-23-19
Council: 5515 - NORWAY
Our Council does an annual fundraising dinner that will allow us to continue to do our work as the “right arm of the Church”. We began by selling tickets on March 2nd to give us an idea of how many people were coming. The parish responded well and as the word of mouth was passed through the parish, more people opted to come. WE have had a harsh winter and the date provided for most people to come out and socialize. We focused on an Italian dinner menu consisting of Spaghetti & meatballs, lasagna, and eggplant parmesan, salad, drinks and dessert. Our Grand knight oversaw the cooking of the meal and the remainder brother Knights manned the serving table, drink table, dessert table and the ticket table. A brother Knight also provided the music for the evening. To encourage and entice parishioners to come, we spread the word that there would be some great prizes. The event went better than we could ever have expected. We served about 100 dinners. We had Wal-Mart, Hannaford, and Cyndi’s Dockside restaurant gift certificates as well as a local 18 hole golf course pass with a cart. We also ran a 50/50 raffle and a lucky parishioner walked away with $75.
The money raised at this evert will allow our council to sponsor several events throughout the calendar year. It was a great, but tiring event and all who attended were very satisfied.
