St. Joseph Church Food Pantry

Project Description:
4th Degree Knight Tom Leonard and 1st Degree Knight Joe Balchunas assisted the St Joseph Church Food Pantry in making food available to families shopping for their core food needs. On June 28th, Tom assisted by helping to display food delivered by the Good Shepherd Food Bank to the St Joseph Church Food Pantry for families who stopped by to shop. Joe helped clients pack their vehicles with food, and later assisted in storing carts and coolers which were used for the distribution. Tom worked 4 manhours and Joe worked 2 hours (6 manhours) that day. There were about 9 other parishioners participating, who belong to the Food Pantry.
The St Joseph Church Food Pantry services indigent families living in the communities of Bridgton, Fryeburg, Naples and Harrison. Food was distributed to 31 families. Food items consist of cereals, canned goods, snacks, boxes of pasta, frozen meat, produce, butter and bread.
