Supporting A Family In Need During Covid-19. 15791

01/16/2022

Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH

Project Description:

Myself and my family participated in prayer services within our own homes on 13 and 15 January. For several month’s now one of our Secular Franciscan Sisters has been sick from a rare illness, and she and her husband have been in and out of hospitals, and also traveled back and forth to an out of state facility for test. During this last week the doctors informed the Family that there was nothing more they could do for her illness, and it was just a matter of time before she passes. Soon after, the family was informed that she would not make it through the night. All during this process because of Covid-19, her husband and children were unable to be with her. On our sister’s final day of life, her husband was allowed to be by her side and pray. Shortly after her passing the family informed us that the wake would be on 13 January, and the funeral would be on January 15. My family and I celebrated our Franciscan Sisters Life on both the 13th and 15th with prayers, reciting the rosary, and sharing memories of our sister, and how much she meant to all, and how much she will be missed. Our sister was one of the founding members of our Fraternity some 33 years ago. We continue to pray as a Franciscan Family, and a Knights of Columbus Family that 2022 will be the year that these virus’s will have run their course, and life will get back to normal for everyone. We continue to ask for the Lord’s support with this hope.
