Supporting the raising of fund or the parish
Council: 11376 - BRIDGTON-FRYEBURG
Beginning Thursday July 4th 2019 and every Thursday to the end of August bingo is held in the church hall at St.Josepsh’s Church Bridgton ME. The proceeds of these events are used to aid the parish in meeting heating cost for the coming winter.
Members of Council 11376, their spouses and members of the parish Women’s Guild volunteer to support these events. The council members and their spouses sold bingo cards, other raffle tickets, called the games and worked on the contestant floor and presented prizes and handling bookkeeping of funds while the Woman’s’ Guild provided support of the kitchen by selling sandwiches and other refreshments. The council members identified themselves as members of our council via wearing K of C apparel or wearing the Kof C name badges
It is important to note that although these monthly events were not council sponsored events that the council supplied 258 man hours in support of the parish.
This illustrated that support of the church and community etc, takes many forms not only in an official capacity. Support is still support.
