Life Director Update

Brother knights. We Need Your Help! In past years by this date, at least a dozen councils would have already sold Maine right to Life raffle tickets. As of today 8/24 we have received returns from only 4 councils. It is very important councils sell these tickets as it is the largest fundraiser Maine Right to Life has. Money from this fundraiser is used to educate young & old against the attacks on human life but, just as important it is used to educate our law makers. Whenever the legislature is in session we have representation at the State House.

Ultrasound Campaign

On Mother’s day this year 5 councils in southern Maine (Sanford, Springvale, Wells, Kennebunk and Biddeford) ran a Baby Bottle drive to raise money for an ultrasound machine for the ALPHA pregnancy resource center in Sanford. Money is still coming in but to date over $14,000.00 has been received and we have petitioned Supreme for matching funds of $12,050.00.

New Ultrasound project

We have been in touch with the director of Open Arms Pregnancy Center in Augusta and it appears they will meet the guidelines for the Ultrasound Initiative.

We are working with the Diocese of Portland to get their input and evaluation before we contact Supreme for their permission to proceed.
