2023 Calendars for Veterans at Togus

Project Description:

Through a partnership with the Togus Veteran’s Hospital Community Service and Volunteer Office, Council 15791 purchases 100 Knights of Columbus calendars to distribute throughout Togus Veteran’s Hospital for the 2023 year. This is an annual event in which parishioners from the Parish of the Holy Eucharist are also involved who collect calendars throughout the parish and these collected calendars, as well as the purchased calendars (purchased and supported by the council) are collected and delivered to Togus for distribution throughout the various hospital rooms at Togus. This is an opportunity for the council to work with the Volunteer Office at Togus, as well as provide exposure from the Knights of Columbus in support of veterans and veteran causes in the state of Maine. Total time to purchase calendars, collect additional calendars, and distribute the calendars to Togus was about 15 hours of time with 10 people participating (4 of them brother Knights from the council). Brother Charles Thurston, himself a U.S. Army Veteran, delivered the calendars on behalf of Council #15791 (picture attached).
