9/11 Wreath Laying Ceremony. 15791
9/11 Wreath Laying Ceremony. 15791
Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH
Project Description:
Myself, my wife, and a friend of the family who is a firefighter attended the memorial wreath laying ceremony on Friday 11 September, 2020. The day of the 9/11 disaster at the World Trade Center. A Brother Knight who was a member of my former council and good friend, was caught in the disaster. Two years ago he and his wife relocated to Florida where they could be closer to their family. He was one of the lucky one’s to have escaped from the building with just minor injuries. He will though live the rest of his life with the memories and horror of that day, and the days to follow. On Sept. 11, 2001, more than 40 members of the Knights of Columbus were among those who died as a result of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the airplane crash in Pennsylvania. The attack killed more than 3,000 innocent people. Today, nineteen years later, we continue to remember those brothers. Upon our return home we gathered in our living room and recited the Rosary of Mary for all the deceased, their families, and those who survived the World Trade Center attack. May the Lord allow all the deceased firefighters, police, and all rescue workers who lost their lives on 9/11, to continue to rest in peace.
