Project Description:

I joined AARP Legislative Tuesdays last March. Basically we advocate for issues that affect seniors. We have guess speakers weekly and are able to observe the business of government in both the Senate and House of Representatives at the Maine State House. This has enabled me to be aware of major events that impact our senior citizens. I have the opportunity to testify in front of committees or simply observe them while dressed in the Red of AARP. This shows our elected officials that seniors are a strong voting block.
The actual time I put into this activity is 41 hours and 25 minutes. The end date is in compliance with the March report deadline. Due to a massive rotator cuff tear there was a break in my service. I ceased my activity on April 17, 2018 and resumed it on January 15, 2019.
