Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH

Project Description:

One bother knight and 5 parishioners attender our past Parish ACTS retreat proto-Core meeting, the proto-Core Team meets every month to plan the annual women’s ACTS retreat and the men’s ACTS retreat, our meetings were conducted at Holy Martyrs Church before the pandemic declaration, after the pandemic declaration we continue our meetings by means of video conference, during our last meeting the men’s ACTS retreat director gave an update on the retreat preparation and the COVID-19 guidelines to be used during the retreat preparation and during the retreat

1. Update on Women’s Day of Reflection: Scheduled for 5/22/21 at Holy Martyrs.

2 women have already paid and registered to attend
Team continues to meet weekly and prepare for the event
Pulpit talks were held at OLH on 4/10-4/11. A number of women expressed interest in the event.
Pulpit Talks are scheduled 4/17-4/18 for POTHE.
Both parishes will have bulletin announcements starting this month.

2. Core formation Update: Remote core training by Chapter was held on 3/20/21. Fr Phil has been in contact with Chapter and is discerning Core membership.

3. Online retreat training: ProtoCore discussed sending a general email and Flocknote to ACTS membership list to notify them of this opportunity.

4. OLH will be hosting a book study – Learning to Pray: A Guide for Everyone by James Martin. This will be held remotely and start on 4/22 and continue into June.

5. OLH will host Send Off/Homecoming for the 2021 men’s retreat and 2022 women’s retreat.

6. Men’s 2021 Retreat Director: The candidates for the 2021 Men’s Retreat director should be selected at the next meeting in May.

Our ACTS proto-Core also includes parishioners from Our Lady of Hope Parish, this accomplish two objectives, the first one is to help the Parish of The Holy Eucharist to strength our 3+ year ACTS ministry and to expand the reach of the ACTS retreat to other Parishes, over these past 3 years the ACTS retreat has touched and changed the lives of 100+ parishioners, the fruits of the retreat have been clear in the four core areas of ACTS, A (Adoration) C (Community), T (Theology) and S (Service), many of our Parish ministries have seen a grow in participation coming from the retreatants.

POTHE/OLH ACTS CORE Formation: Both pastors gave their blessing to move forward with forming a Core. By forming a Core, the POTHE/OLH ACTS Community will be a legal Community in the eyes of ACTS Missions. Forming a Core is the next step in the ACTS process after having the 4 Mission Retreats, 2 Men’s and 2 Women’s retreats. The Core is the “guiding body,” along with the pastors and Fr Marquis, our ACTS Chaplain, that assures that all retreats are kept in the true order that ACTS intended, SIMPLE, CATHOLIC, REVERENT.
