ACTS proto-Core (October) — 15791 Falmouth
ACTS proto-Core (October) --- 15791 Falmouth
Council: 15791 - FALMOUTH
Project Description:
Two bother knights and 8 parishioners attender our past Parish ACTS retreat proto-Core meeting, the proto-Core Team meets every month to plan the annual women’s ACTS retreat and the men’s ACTS retreat
Financial Report – Melissa
Melissa has created financial codes for men’s/women’s retreats to keep income and costs separate for each group. Another code was created for scholarship donations.
All reports are based on parish fiscal year, July 1 – June 30.
Melissa will give updated lists of who has paid retreat registrations weekly, and later daily, so Team will know who is paid.
Melissa recommended to Protocore that funds donated for ACTS should be used for ACTS projects. She recommends that ACTS Ministry use some of our funds to fill needs (e.g., buying bed linens for Retreat at Camp Mechuwana), or making registration fees more reasonable (as we did this year) rather than trying to “save” for a rainy day.
Update on Men’s Retreat – Tom
Camp Mechuwana in Winthrop has been reserved for the Men’s Fall Retreat, November 18-21.
There will be a 15-person limit on retreatants, due mostly to space constraints at the camp. Intention is that all retreatants will have private rooms.
Linens were purchased for beds, and are being laundered. Team will study the possibility of purchasing blankets as well.
Prayers of the Faithful about the ACTS Retreat are running as scheduled in both parishes.
ACTS portion of POTHE website has been updated and reflects this fall’s schedule.
Bulletin announcements are running in both parishes, into November.
Pulpit Talks are scheduled at OLH October 16-17 and at POTHE October 23-24. Save-the-date cards are being distributed. Posters have been placed. Rene McCallum took care of posters at OLH.
Retreat Registration page is active and working correctly.
Team is reaching out to men who registered for cancelled Retreat in fall 2020.
We are asking clergy to recruit, and to reinforce the message of the Pulpit Talks.
Happy will craft an email blast to send to women of ACTS to enlist their aid in recruitment of retreatants the week of Pulpit Talks. She will contact Relevant Radio and put retreat notices in Bulletins of other parishes in the area for the weekend of October 30-31.
COVID Protocols for Retreat – Tom
Team and Participants will be given at-home test kits. Tests will be funded by ACTS, at no cost to retreatants.
Retreat will follow all COVID protocols of federal, State, county and Diocese.
External Issues for Retreat – Tom
Part of Send-off will be temperature taking, asking the standard risk questions related to COVID, and ensuring that all retreatants have self-tested.
We will block off seats for ACTS group at 10.30 am Homecoming Mass at HM.
As of now, there are no plans for a Reception after the Mass.
Pro-Life Rosary in October – Peter
Date will be Saturday, October 23, at noon at Holy Martyrs. Prayer service will be outside in the grotto near the memorial unless weather is poor, in which case we will adjourn to the church.
Notices are running in the POTHE Bulletin during the first three weeks of October.
Happy will do an email blast to the ACTS Community in the week before as a reminder.

Apple Pie Sale
After a group discussion, it was decided to skip this fund-raiser in 2021.
Selection of Women’s Retreat Director for 2022
It was determined that four candidates were eligible from the list of ACTS women. Those present at this meeting who were eligible withdrew.
As per the procedure outlined by ACTS Mission, names were prayed over and selected in order.
Names will be submitted to Fr. Phil Tracy for his review. He will contact candidates in order to ask for their discernment.
Our ACTS proto-Core also includes parishioners from Our Lady of Hope Parish, this accomplish two objectives, the first one is to help the Parish of The Holy Eucharist to strength our 3+ year ACTS ministry and to expand the reach of the ACTS retreat to other Parishes, over these past 3 years the ACTS retreat has touched and changed the lives of 100+ parishioners, the fruits of the retreat have been clear in the four core areas of ACTS, A (Adoration) C (Community), T (Theology) and S (Service), many of our Parish ministries have seen a grow in participation coming from the retreatants.
POTHE/OLH ACTS CORE Formation: Both pastors gave their blessing to move forward with forming a Core. By forming a Core, the POTHE/OLH ACTS Community will be a legal Community in the eyes of ACTS Missions. Forming a Core is the next step in the ACTS process after having the 4 Mission Retreats, 2 Men’s and 2 Women’s retreats. The Core is the “guiding body,” along with the pastors and Fr Marquis, our ACTS Chaplain, that assures that all retreats are kept in the true order that ACTS intended, SIMPLE, CATHOLIC, REVERENT.
