Four of the 13 Team meetings have been held. Commissioning Mass was held on September 11 at 4.30 pm at St. Pius X Church. Went well, no recommendations for future changes.
Team Recruitment: 17 men have committed to be on Team; additional men have volunteered to help with Send-off and Candlelight.
Camp Mechuwana contract has been signed and returned. Retreat fee will be $165.00. There will be a 15-person limit on retreatants.
Both pastors have agreed to help with review of Retreat Talks.
One of the Jesuit priests from OLH helped with spiritual reflection at a recent Team meeting, doing a reflection segment based on Ignatian Spirituality.

COVID Protocols for Retreat

Team and Participants will be given same-day testing on Thursday and again on Sunday at close of Retreat. Tests will be funded by ACTS, at no cost to retreatants. CVS/Walgreens are currently back-ordered on tests but Team is working on this.
Retreat will follow all COVID protocols of federal, State, county and Diocese.
Happy will give updated COVID protocol statement to Kim Palli to add to the ACTS Men’s retreat section of the webpage.
Tom will send Happy updated version of Bulletin announcements he is running in the OLH Bulletin, that includes references to the Retreat’s COVID protocol, to be added to POTHE Bulletin weekly.

Prayers of the Faithful

Prayers of the Faithful about the Retreat for various weekends, and submitted them at OLH. He will send Happy these to be inserted into the POTHE liturgies.

Website Update

Linens for Camp Mechuwana

Linens have been purchased and will be laundered before Retreat.

Pulpit Talks

Will be held October 16 and 17 at OLH and October 23 and 24 at POTHE. POTHE speeches should be concise and must be approved by Fr. Peter Kaseta.

Bulletin Announcements and Pamphlets

Bulletin announcements have begun in both parishes. Will continue almost every week in each Bulletin into November.

Women’s ACTS Retreat Dates

There are currently two reservations for different locales for the women in May 2022. May 12-15 is reserved at Notre Dame in Alfred and May 19-22 is reserved at Camp Mechuwana in Winthrop. Final decision on Women’s Retreat location and date will be made after the Men’s Retreat, most likely in early 2022.

Selection of Women’s Retreat Director

This selection should happen in the next two months.
Requirements for retreat director are on page 17 of the ACTS Manual. This topic was tabled as we need to review requirements and assemble a list of eligible names for discernment.

Pro-Life Rosary in October

Rosary has been approved by Fr. Phil. Date will be Saturday, October 23, at noon at Holy Martyrs. Prayer service will be outside in the grotto near the memorial unless the weather is poor, in which case we will adjourn to the church.

ACTS Picnic at St. Gregory on August 29

About 20 people enjoyed the lake and good food at the ACTS Picnic. They took tours of the grounds and discussed ways to revitalize the campground to make it viable for group and family use.

Our ACTS proto-Core also includes parishioners from Our Lady of Hope Parish, this accomplish two objectives, the first one is to help the Parish of The Holy Eucharist to strength our 3+ year ACTS ministry and to expand the reach of the ACTS retreat to other Parishes, over these past 3 years the ACTS retreat has touched and changed the lives of 100+ parishioners, the fruits of the retreat have been clear in the four core areas of ACTS, A (Adoration) C (Community), T (Theology) and S (Service), many of our Parish ministries have seen a grow in participation coming from the retreatants.

POTHE/OLH ACTS CORE Formation: Both pastors gave their blessing to move forward with forming a Core. By forming a Core, the POTHE/OLH ACTS Community will be a legal Community in the eyes of ACTS Missions. Forming a Core is the next step in the ACTS process after having the 4 Mission Retreats, 2 Men’s and 2 Women’s retreats. The Core is the “guiding body,” along with the pastors and Fr Marquis, our ACTS Chaplain, that assures that all retreats are kept in the true order that ACTS intended, SIMPLE, CATHOLIC, REVERENT.
