American Red Cross Blood Drive

Project Description:

Our Council holds an annual Blood Drive in concert with the American Red Cross. We receive sponsorship of the program from our local Subway Sandwich Shop which provides a platter of sandwiches with the Council purchasing a second platter. Our Drive is held from 2:00-7:00pm to allow for those commuting from work to participate as well. We always have great participation from our membership in support of this event and this year was no exception. We are finding that donation numbers have been trending down, and the American Red Cross is having increasing difficulty meeting their donation needs. That is why we feel so strongly in this effort which supports so many vital services such as Emergency care, Cancer treatments, surgeries and so many other health needs.
