Annual Council Christmas Social

Annual Council Christmas Social

02/29/2020

Council: 10020 - No. WINDHAM

Project Description:

Our annual Council Christmas Social was threatened this year by an early day storm, but we were fortunate, with God’s grace, that the storm ended early. We combine a number of activities into our Christmas Social in the spirit of giving. We invite our families to join us to celebrate during the Advent season in anticipation of our celebration of Christmas. We have a pot-luck meal with a great variety of dishes to choose from. Additionally we invite representatives from recipient organizations of our Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilites (aka: Tootsie Roll Drive). This allows us to present donations to these organizations and we give them an opportunity to talk about the great work they do. It is nice that we get to celebrate as a council the fruits of our efforts and to hear how our participation in the CFPWID program makes a real difference in the community. We end the evening with a Yankee Gift Swap which can become very lively and causes a great deal of laughter. It is a fitting celebration as we are anticipating the arrival of our Lord and Savior.
