Annual St. Patrick Dinner
Annual St. Patrick Dinner
Council: 2465 - FARMINGTON
Project Description:
The Knights of Columbus, Council 2465, held our annual St. Patrick’s Dinner at the Parish Hall on Saturday, March 16, 2019, from 4:30-6:00 PM. Over 130 parishioners, community members and other friends attended the celebration. The Knights furnished all the food which included: Corn Beef, cabbage, onions, carrots, boiled potatoes, homemade rye, Russian rye and white breads and some of the desserts. There were at least 12 or more different desserts furnished by parishioners. The entertainment was furnished by the Franklin County Fiddlers, a fiddlers group from Mount Blue High School, Farmington Maine. This is a musical group that does presentations around the state in concert with their regular music class during school. Not only did the Fiddlers play the traditional St. Patrick songs, they also held a sing along to the tunes of: Take Me out to the Ballpark and Sweet Caroline (Neil Diamond). The Fiddlers also played at the inauguration of Governor Janet Mills earlier this year. This is at least the 10th year this merriment has been presented by the Knights of Columbus. The donations received covered all our expenses along with presenting the Franklin County Fiddlers a contribution of $500.00 for their continued musical service for Franklin County. No one was green with envy because all enjoyed the good food, good friends and great music.
