Project Description:
One of our council brothers, and his wife with a Team of 14 ladies from our Parish have worked diligently in purchasing of material, washing the material, ironing the material, cutting the material to size, sewing the material, then a final wash and dry. These operations were done in private homes of the 14 ladies involved. The team worked at their homes and Sacred Heart Parking Lot. from March 27 through June 5, 2020. Their request started out small, but grew as time went on. They have been making masks for several Police Departments in the area, Medical Facilities, Food Drive Volunteers in the Gray, New Gloucester area, Veterans homes, and a number of council brothers have also been given masks. Our council brother helps his wife and the team with picking up of the material, to setting up sewing machines, and delivering the finish product to one of the ladies at Sacred Heart Church for delivery to the people requiring them. Since March 27, 2020 to June 6, 2020 this team has made 2,600 masks. These volunteers who have been reaching out to those in Need during this Covid-19 Virus, has been a God sent for many workers and volunteer’s, thanks to this Team of Special Ladies and their Knights of Columbus Helper.
