Assisting Veterans to Mass at VA hospital at Togus

Project Description:

Six brother knights assisted shut-in residents to attend mass on Sunday May 6 in the chapel at the Togus Veterans Center. The Grand Knight and 5 brother knights departed Portland at 6:45pm and arrived at Togus at 8:30am after stopping for coffee along the way. They assisted veterans from the 2nd and 3rd floor of the hospital to and from mass which began at 9:00am. Each of the councils in Maine are asked to volunteer on Sundays to assist those with this ministry and council 11257 helped on May 6. It is a very rewarding trip and a privilege to assist our veterans.
