Project Description:

I am a volunteer driver for the Augusta Food Bank. My shifts start at 7 AM and go for 4 to 5 hours twice a week. I am accompanied by 3 or 4 volunteers to various stores in Augusta where we pick up donations of food items and personal nonedible items. These items are hand loaded into the food bank van and unloaded at the facility. We pick up and unload approximately 6 to 8 thousand pounds of goods each day.
I also deliver kids packs to a children’s center and personal items to Bridging The Gap.
I am submitting monthly reports. Due to a trip that my wife and I are taking, this report doesn’t reflect a full month as I will not be putting in any more hours in March.
My wife also volunteers at the Augusta Food Bank stocking shelves and preparing food packs. She averages 26 hours a month.
