Baby Bottle Boomerang event for Charlane Chapman House
Baby Bottle Boomerang event for Charlane Chapman House
Council: 5515 - NORWAY
Project Description:
The state family couple, Charlie & Courtney Bougie, had mentioned that they heard there was a new 501(c)(3) corporation being developed somewhere in Hebron in 2023. An online search was conducted and found that a corporation in Brunswick, Life House Maine, had purchased the old Greenwood Mountain Inn in Hebron and was modifying it as a safe home that would take in pregnant mothers in difficult situations and nurture & care for the baby in their womb for the first year of life. I met Paul Balsamo in the fall of 2023 and struck up a relationship with him after discussing the monumental task he was undertaking. I went back to my council and brought the issue before them, and they were all in agreement that we would work the next year to help the new venture get up and running. Our council scheduled a baby bottle boomerang drive from July 12 to August 11, 2024, where we made baby bottles available to the parishioners of the three churches in our parish. Through the generous contributions of the parishioners of St. Teresa of Calcutta parish $ 2,000.00 was raised during this event. This was a testament to the generosity of the parishioners of our parish in supporting our efforts not only this year but in years past as well. A sincere “THANK YOU” is extended from our council. A presentation of the receipts of our 2024 drive will be made in mid to late September at the Charlane Chapman House.
