Beginning A New Council Business Year. 15791

Project Description:

Twenty one council brothers, Fr. Paul Marquis, and District Deputy Ray DiDonato participated in our first council business meeting of the year, at Saint Gregory’s Church Hall in Gray on Tuesday September 4, 2018. This evening the meeting was opened by our Grand Knight who introduced District Deputy Ray and asked him to please install our Chancellor and Recorder into their council officer positions. These officers were not able to make the Council Officer Installation last month at Holy Martyr’s Church. Following that, a number of items of business was conducted including selecting the three nominee’s for this year’s Tootsie Roll checks, authorizing the Council Seminarian Director to send out the two $500.00 checks to our two Seminarians, and after some discussion it was voted on to purchase 72 Coats For Kids this year, which the council will pay $1,415.40 for. These coats will be donated to the Four Food /Clothing Pantry’s in our Parish. This evening our Council Program Director introduced the NEW Faith In Action Program to those in attendance. At some point he will be conducting classes for small groups of Brothers during this Fraternal Year. All in all it was a very busy, and productive evening with a lot being accomplished. Socializing followed the Business Meeting. If we are to continue to strengthen the Domestic Church we must start now. More Faith In Action Programs coming this Fall and Winter.
