Bene Bags As a charitable organization, our council has need of good causes to support. We have found a particularly good one in Bene Bags (pronounced “Ben-E Bags”). Over thirty years ago, friends Elaine Roberge and Joan Fecteau put together bags of goodies for Meals on Wheels customers, who are often alone and lonely. They combined toiletries, snacks, a hobby item or two and threw in a larger gift—a shirt, slippers or something like that. That’s a Bene Bag, and that’s what they have supplied to Meals on Wheels ever since to bring to their most needy customers at Christmastime. This year Bene Bags will be reaching more recipients than ever before— from Bidd/Saco/OOB all the way down to Wells. At our November council business meeting, our Brother Knights voted a $400 donation to this worthy cause for the umpteenth year in a row
