Project Description:

St. Maximillan as in many Parishes suffers from dropping attendance and rising costs. The parish fundraising committee is always looking for ways to raise funds. The Knights also help with supporting religious education at nearby Holy Cross Cluster Elementary School. During Lent the Knights Council #8144 supports various parish causes with weekly haddock dinners followed by the Station of the Cross in the adjacent Church. Over 12 knights and 10 school volunteers starting with Thursday night set up though the dinner donated over 88 hrs make the haddock dinner happen. This week we had over 148 meals served. Donation to the Holy Cross School of the net proceeds totaled $468. In addition for every dinner, the Knights donate $25 to the parish kitchen maintenance fund to help with wear and tear and help with electric/gas utilities. Total council donation = $493 dollars. The evening was full of good food, fellowship and fun!
