Benefit Haddock Supper for Waban

Project Description:

The St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Council organized a Haddock Supper to benefit the Waban Telethon the following day. Baked Haddock, mashed potatoes, peas, cole slaw, macaroni and cheese, bread, coffee, lemonade and assorted desserts are served.

St. Thomas Knights and volunteers pitched in to prepare the food, serve the patrons, bus tables and clean up. Various parishioners also made assorted desserts.

This year’s Waban Telethon was held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the St. Ignatius Gym in Sanford. The Telethon is Waban’s biggest fund raiser. Waban Projects is dedicated to assist developmentally challenged persons through its various programs.

The benefit Haddock supper raised $1,017 for this cause. A check was presented at the Telethon. The Waban Telethon raised $110,000 that day! The St. Thomas Council was awarded the Making the Difference Award by Waban Executive Director Neal Meltzer for all the contributions the St. Thomas Council has made to Waban Projects over the years.
