Benefit supper for the family of Morgan Green.

Council: 10019 - LEWISTON

Project Description:

The family of Morgan Green was referred to our Council by our Parish office for a request for financial assistance. After learning about their situation the Council unanimously and enthusiastically voted in favor for a benefit supper to help them ease their financial burden.

At the time the motion passed to do the benefit supper, Morgan Green, age 23, had been in a hospital in Massachusetts for a few weeks fighting for her life following her latest of many open heart surgeries she has had to endure since birth to correct a heart defect. Her family, who have very limited means were heavily burdened by the expenses that invariably occur when caring for a loved one in a hospital so far from home.

Just prior to the the benefit supper Morgan went home to see our Lord following her life-long battle. Her family was very grateful for the efforts by many Knights, friends and family who helped them in their time of need. The ongoing efforts of the many helped them worry a little less about finances as they spent time by their daughters’ side before she left this life for her eternal life with our Lord.

The benefit supper was a huge success. We were able to help the friends and family of Morgan to set up a silent auction that was run by them during the event. Total funds raised by the spaghetti supper, 50/50 and silent auction were around $3,300.

Morgan Green was a vibrant and loving young lady who will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew her.
