Blood Drive

Project Description:

On March 5th, St. Martin of Tours Council #680 held a blood drive in cooperation with the American Red
Cross at St. Peter’s Parish Center. This drive is sponsored by Council 680 in response to the
American Red Cross’s request for drives in our geographical area. Brothers were there at 12:00 p.m. to help the drivers unload the truck and then helped the staff set up the required stations. At 1:00 p.m. the blood drive started and Brothers helped register the donors, escort those donating blood to the canteen after donating, ran the canteen with drinks and snack being made available to the donors and then cleaned up when the drive ended at 6:00 p.m. In all, 27 donators were registered, 4 were deferred, and 24 units were collected. The American Red Cross thanked us for our efforts and sent the Council a letter congratulating us on a successful drive. The letter was read to the members at our Msy Council meeting.
