Bowlathon Fundraiser for Pregnancy Center

Project Description:

Brother John Newcomb and newly transfer to our Council is an avid bowler, he asked if he /the council could put together a bowl a thin to help with fundraising. It was decided at the officers meeting that a fundraiser in support of the Godparent Pregnancy Center was a great idea and John and Keith set-out to make this happen.

We had a meeting with the owner of the Family Fun Lanes on Hammond Street in Bangor. Andy was full of excitement to assist and to have us bowl at his business. Andy was very generous, gave one free game per bowler, and then charged us just half of the total bill. All this was done so that the pregnancy center reaped the financial gains weather than the business.

In addition, John did a raffle for himself to cook in. someone home a lobster dinner for two, he also contacted local businesses for raffle prizes, and had a bake sale.

All in all the Council had profit of more than $1,100.00 dollars that was given to the center. We had a great feeling of accomplishment and Pride for making this donation to the Pregnancy Center.

This was our first attempt at making this an Annual Fundraiser, what a great start to a beautiful goal for future Pregnant Moms, and for our future young children to be born and prosper.
