Burial Service for Deceased Brother Sir Knight Robert Cormier
Burial Service for Deceased Brother Sir Knight Robert Cormier
Council: 1423 - No. WHITEFIELD
Project Description:
“The Greatest Casualty is to be Forgotten.” This motto of the Wounded Warrior Project is applicable to our committments in the Knights of Columbus. Many times, a Brother Knight joins the Order in a specific Council, and Assembly. Over time, this Brother may move to a different locale in the State, or move out-of-State. Because of the choices and moves, he may lose contact with his Home Council. If this occurs, he may lose contact with his Brother Knights, or, vice versa, the Council may lose contact with him.
In this particular case, both happened, until the Brothers obituary was noticed in an out-of-state newspaper. His current address had not been updated at Supreme for years. By happenstance, his date of inurnment was noiticed in time for a representative of the Council to be present at the Committal Prayers, offered by Reverend (Brother Sir Knight) Frank Morin. The US Air Force played Taps, and conducted the Flag-Folding and Presentation Ceremony, accompanied by a Fourth Degree Honor Guard.
