Campaign for Individuals with Disabilities
Campaign for Individuals with Disabilities
Council: 114 - BANGOR
Project Description:
Pine Cone Council 114 was able to conduct their Campaign for People with Disabilities in a somewhat normal manner this year. Because of the pandemic, we were not able to solicit donations at all of our typical business location and we practice Covid-19 protocol with mask, gloves, and hand sanitizer.
The campaign was conducted at Sam’s, Dysart’s Restaurant, and St. Paul the Apostle Parish churches. We had 33 Knights and 15 spouses, children, and in-laws participated with a total of 137 hours contributed. The Berube family contributed 12.5 hours and James and Linda Landers contributing 11 hours. With 4 other families contributing almost 30 hours. Frist year Knights Tom Dee, Romeo El Chaer, and Chris Hayden volunteered their time.
Considering the limitations that we operated under this year, the overall campaign was successful. Total donations amounted to $7,480. The local distribution was $5,904 and the state portion was $1,476. In January we will distribute checks to Penobscot Area Special Olympics, Elizabeth Levinson Center, Camp CaPella, and Pine Tree Camp.
