Church Hall Repairs at the Maxwell-Gill Hall – Our Lady of the Rosary
Church Hall Repairs at the Maxwell-Gill Hall - Our Lady of the Rosary
Council: 13181 - SABATTUS
Project Description:
The Maxwell-Gill Hall is used for a variety of church and community events throughout the year and over the course of the year, hundreds of people benefit from its services. This includes things like the Church Craft Fair, monthly Bean & Casserole suppers, Senior Citizen’s Group, Annual Thanksgiving Dinner, and Annual Chicken BBQ, just to name a few. The proper operation of this hall becomes more challenging as the building ages.
For the past few years, the kitchen sink in the hall has developed a drain leak that has slowly progressed. In the beginning, it was a nuisance that had to be collected in a pan, but as time went on, it became worse to the point where the sink became almost impossible to use.
Brother Knight Daniel Bouffard is a contractor with plumbing experience. He and a helper decided the make the necessary plumbing repairs to restore the sink to proper working order for everyone to use.
In addition, the main entry door to the hall needed to have a new door closer. The original one failed and caused the door to whip open and break the glass. Danial Bouffard also replaced this closer and repaired the door.
