HIGH WINDS AND 2+ INCHES OF RAIN HIT MOST OF MAINE ON DECEMBER 23RD & 24TH CAUSING A LOT OF TREE DAMAGE AND POWER OUTAGES TO MORE THAN 100,000 CUSTOMERS IN THE STATE. A LARGE HEMLOCK FELL ON GORE ROAD PARTIALLY BLOCKING TRAFFIC. FOUR RESIDENTS CHAINSAWED & REMOVED THE TREE. IN ADDITION, SEVERAL LOADS OF PINE BRANCHES WERE REMOVED FROM 10 & 12 AQUILA ROAD. RESIDENTS OF THOSE HOMES ARE NOT CURRENTLY LIVING THERE. ALSO, THE METAL CANOE/KAYAK RACK AT 12 AQUILA WAS OVERTURNED BY THE HIGH WINDS. REPAIRS WERE MADE AND THE FOUR CANOES & KAYAKS WERE SECURELY FASTENED TO THE RACK.
