Coats for Kids Program

Project Description:

Council 11257 raised funds from our annual Fruit Drive and member donations during the holidays to purchased much needed Coats for Kids for the winter weather. With the funds raised we were able to purchase 3 boxes each of Boys and Girls Coats for a total of 72 coats. 48 Coats were donated to St. Vincent Depaul Soup Kitchen for those children and adults needing warm winter coats. 12 coats were distributed to the Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program and 12 were donated to the annual coats for kids drive done by WCSH in Portland, an annual event to bring more coats to those in need each year in Portland. This is our 4th year of the coats for kids program and we plan to do it each year during the holidays and winter months.
