Communicating With Our Seminarians. 15791

Project Description:

Two of our Council members one being our Council Seminarian Director and one Parishioner has dedicated time in communicating with our Seminarians. The location of the activity was in our Parish Worship Sites and Private Homes during July 2017-June 2018. Sponsoring a Seminarian isn’t just sending him $500.00 once a year and not communicating with him again until the next year. It is very important to keep connected monthly, either by email, a card, visiting him in the Seminary, a phone call or even inviting him to a Business Meeting or Social Evening. We were very pleased to have witnessed our newest Seminarian being Ordained a Priest last month at the Cathedral Of The Immaculate Conception in Portland. With the Priest shortage which we have in the State of Maine now, it is vitally important to consider supporting the Seminarian Program. With this in mind at our last Council Business Meeting it was discussed and voted on to support two Seminarians this year. The council will be sending in September a check for $1,000.00 along with our Prayers and promise to communicate with them in a timely manner. Bless all the Seminarians with hopes that they may someday be called Farther.
